As far as I know, there aren't many moving parts in a fuel pump. I haven't seen the inside of a Z32 fuel pump, but I had another fuel pump that I took apart and it only had 1 moving assembly- just an impeller inside attached to a motor that pumped the gas centrifugally. The only friction would be in the motor's bearings. The gas flowing through it is what cooled the motor. : On the other hand, I think a lot of heat is generated from the friction of the moving parts, not just electrical resistance. I don't know if the electrical contribution is significant relative to the friction...I suspect it is not.
